Let’s Play Math – grades K-1, in-person/online

We firmly believe that math is more than counting and it can be enjoyable and engaging. To make this true we include a variety of logic and unusual problems, as well as riddles and puzzles. In addition, we use a wide range of manipulatives, construction sets, geometrical games, and mosaics to help our students intuitively understand and visualize mathematical concepts. Strategy and math games are perfect learning tools and can make difficult concepts come to life.

All of the above foster children’s natural curiosity and will help kids to build a strong foundation just playing math! This course includes the core curriculum topics and goes beyond.

Out of the Box Thinking – grades 2-5, in-person/online

Here is a fun secret: some of the most exciting and fun topics in mathematics are rarely covered in standard school courses. There is more to mathematics than endless counting drills.

We want to show students the playfulness and beauty of mathematics. Topics include logic puzzles, mindbenders, applied geometry, and strategy games. We promise to keep the boring counting drills away from this class. Our goal is to teach students to think outside the box and apply non-standard and non-linear solutions to a diverse set of problems. It’s going to be a fun class because finding creative solutions is an intrinsically satisfying experience.
