We are offering chess classes in partnership with the
New England Chess School.
Chess helps young children to:

Classes
Beginners
This course is designed to teach chess to children who have no knowledge of the game. Students will learn pawn and piece movements as well as the fundamentals of the beginning, the middle and the end game. Students will always touch and use equipment. Part of the class will be board demonstrations and part practical interaction.
Advanced Beginners
This course is designed for students who already know the basics of how to play chess. Principles of tactics and strategy will be taught to prepare students for more rigorous competition. The topics include opening traps, and strategy, tactical puzzles and building simple strategical plans. Playing chess online vs other kids. Bughouse (team chess).
Intermediate
This class is for kids who are already playing in rated tournaments or are ready to play. The focus will be on building an opening repertoire, studying master games, and learning from ones’ mistakes. We will have a detailed look at certain typical endgame and middlegame positions. One of the main focuses will be learning how to improve calculation and visualization of the board and improve general level of understanding.

Advanced Beginners 12:15PM to 1:15PM
Intermediate: 1:30PM to 3:00PM
Tuition
– $115/month for beginners class (60 min class/ once per week)
– $125/month for advanced beginners class (60 min class/ once per week)
– $150/month for intermediate class (90 min class/ once per week)
